Should you need to use the UHD51A's onboard audio instead of an external sound system, the two 5-watt stereo speakers deliver good sound quality and enough volume for a small to mid-size room. It is hard to argue that these voice command features, even with the promised additions, are by themselves worth the $300 higher cost for the UHD51A compared with the UHD50. The Optoma UHD51A's most eye-catching feature is its unique support for Alexa, but that's not the best reason to buy it. Voice commands are currently limited to turning the projector on and off, adjusting volume, changing the input source, and controlling the USB media player.
However, there's little-to-no digital video effect, which leaves nothing to gain from turning it off. Unlike the maximum setting in many projectors, High doesn't smooth motion entirely, but it also adds only a minor digital video effect. You might prefer a more aggressive version of FI for live and recorded video, but this more subtle version is better for film. There is little difference in sharpness at normal seating distances between projectors using the two different chips, and they are all very close in sharpness to the least expensive true 4K projectors .
The ANSI lumen rating measures the brightest white that a projector can produce by averaging nine light meter measurements taken across the projected image. Our reviews of the HT2550 and UHD51A suggest essentially equal light output in both the brightest mode and in the preferred Cinema mode. So it comes down to other factors, as well as your comfort level with purchasing a refurb. I'd read the reviews and see what you can glean from them.
It shows in the much higher contrast, more range between bright and dark. The TK800 is a brighter projector DLP with an RGBW wheel. Keystone correction is a horrible thing in reality, it is best avoided whenever possible.
